Starting to crawl, feeding herself finger foods, babbling, saying Mama and Dada, and cutting her first teeth—all very exciting! Your baby may not be doing any of these things yet, but she will start soon. Take time to really enjoy whatever progress your baby is making. Celebrate her success.
Using all her senses, your baby is investigating her world and is learning very quickly. Enjoy this time of discovery by providing a wide variety of things for her to play with. Looking intently, handling, and mouthing, banging and dropping or throwing everything within reach is your baby’s way of relating to her world. Encourage her explorations.
What an enjoyable time this is with your baby! She is usually happy and outgoing and loves to look at new faces. Her sense of humor is beginning to develop. This month she will probably laugh out loud as she is beginning to “get the joke.” She will enjoy funny expressions and may try to make you laugh.
